Featuring a Keynote Address by the noted author, speaker, and educational consultant Mary Cay Ricci, the 2017 WELV Annual Conference will explore how women leaders can empower themselves and empower others by developing the mindsets for leading and learning. Over the two days of the conference, participants will gain a deeper understanding of issues of importance to them personally and professionally through formal speeches, panel presentations, break-out sessions, and both social and professional networking activities.
Break-Out Sessions are a particularly popular feature of the conference each year, providing opportunities for participants to learn from the experiences of other members of the WELV community on a wide variety of topics.
If you are interested in becoming a Presenter of a Break-Out Session at this year’s event, you are encouraged to review the information below.
You might also want to visit the 2016 Annual Conference Archive page for detailed descriptions of the different Break-Out Sessions that were presented at the 2016 WELV Annual Conference.
If you decide that you would like to lead a Break-Out Session at this year’s conference, please fill out the registration form to your right and submit it by January 6, 2017.
Break-Out Sessions are one hour in length.
Sessions should be informational and relevant to WELV members and should not promote specific products or services.
Sessions should be highly interactive, engaging participants in activities and discussion, as well as providing time for questions and feedback during the last 15 minutes.
Break-Out Sessions can be led by one Presenter, but you are encouraged to have a Co-Presenter or even a team of Presenters.
Please note: Contact Judy Lam if you have a team of three or more presenters.
Presenters are required to complete an online registration with information about their qualifications and a description of the proposed topic of their Break-Out Session.
All Break-Out Proposals will be reviewed by members of the WELV Board.
If the proposal is accepted, Break-Out Session Presenters will be required to register to attend the Annual Conference and pay registration fees (at the “Early Bird” rate).
Presenters are asked to make the presentation available for posting on the WELV website.
Presenters are asked to provide a laptop and 50 copies of any handouts.
WELV will provide screen and LCD projector (if requested).
